COVID-19 NOTICEDue to the Covid-19 pandemic, all “in-person” support groups are canceled until further notice. We will be holding regular support group meetings virtually through Zoom. Please see our calendar for details. If you prefer to communicate with us in writing, please send your message to: [email protected]. A volunteer will be happy to answer your questions or provide support.
Here is what the (English) meetings entail:
In a safe and respectful environment, you will have the opportunity to freely discuss your condition. These meetings are also an opportunity to discuss your treatments, your hopes and your anxieties or to share your tips and strategies. You will find comfort, compassion, information, and more.
Support groups are led by a volunteer facilitator who acts as a moderator and oversees the sessions. S/he can also answer your questions within the limits of his/her knowledge (the facilitators are generally not health professionals). The facilitators are also responsible for ensuring a positive and friendly atmosphere. The discussions are open with no set topic on the agenda.
For the participants, interacting with people who are dealing with similar struggles is a beneficial experience that helps to break their isolation.
